Our Tikal Go staff will pick you up at your hotel in San Ignacio where we’ll start a 45 minutes journey along a dirt road, where we can observe some villages in the interior of Belize, including a Mennonite farm called Barton Creek. As we advance the field becomes pleasantly picturesque, with hills and valleys covered with organic crops.

Once in the place, after registering, we continue collecting the canoe, life jackets and lighthouses. Now ready, we go to the river bank where your Tour Guide will take your canoe waiting for your trip to the Maya underworld – Xibalbá.

The adventure takes off when you enter the limestone cave and fleets for about 1 hour. Inside the cave, you’ll pass through impressive formations of natural crystals and several outstanding archaeological aspects, all of which your Tour Guide will point out as you go upstream.

Finishing the tour we will have a typical Belizeño lunch.

This adventure will surprise you with its extensive passages. Sit back and relax, while your Guide sail will tell you the stories of this incredible place. After exploring the underworld, we’ll return to the city.
