Book the Yaxhà + Topoxtè Tour.
On this double tour, you’ll visit the post-Classic place of Topoxté located on an island in the Yaxhá Lagoon.
This City was once the capital of the Ko’woj Maya and one of the largest postclassic Mayan cities in the region.
We will arrive at this place after a journey of approximately 30 minutes by boat in which we’ll surely look at crocodiles but don’t worry they already know us.? Topoxté means the seed of the Ramón tree and this fruit was one of the greatest foods of the Mayans thanks to its strong protein components, even today it’s widely used by the communities.
After the tour, we’ll return to recharge our energy with a delicious lunch at El Sombrero Ecolodge.
This place is a pioneer when it comes to ecotourism, so it was the place of one of the seasons of the North American reality show: SURVIVOR.
Finishing the Lunch we’ll continue the tour in the magical city of Yaxhá where we’ll know the Astronomical Complex, the Avenue of the Pilgrims, the Twin Pyramids Complex and the Temple of the Red Hands, the famous 216 where we’ll finish the tour admiring the incredible sunset on the Yaxhá Lagoon, one of the most beautiful and impressive sunsets in the world.
